2025 FAI World Drone Soccer Championships: Final List of Participating Teams Announced



The 2025 FAI World Drone Soccer Championships is set to kick off in Shanghai, marking a historic moment for the sport. The final list of participating teams has now been confirmed!

A total of 295 participants from 18 countries and regions will gather at the Shanghai Stadium to compete across two competition categories, all vying to become the first-ever Drone Soccer World Champion.

The competition will be divided into two categories: F9A-A and F9A-B, with a total of 35 teams having completed registration, showcasing a highly diverse and competitive field.

1. F9A-A Category

  • Number of Teams: 18 teams.

  • Category Highlights: This category features many strong teams, including those from China, Japan, Korea, Kazakhstan, Germany, and the USA. The larger drones and playing field will thoroughly test the teams' and athletes' absolute skill, flight stability, and macro tactical coordination, making the championship highly prestigious.

2. F9A-B Category

  • Number of Teams: 27 teams.

  • Category Highlights: This category has attracted numerous participants, including teams from Hong Kong (China), Macau (China), Singapore, the UAE, and Uzbekistan, totaling 27 delegations. The smaller drones result in a faster-paced game requiring finer tactical strategy, making it the perfect stage to witness the rise of new forces and potential "dark horses."

Several delegations, including China, Japan, Korea, and Kazakhstan, have demonstrated strong overall capabilities by entering both categories, aiming to challenge for honors across the board.


This championship is not only a contest of skill but also a showcase of the sport's future.
It is noteworthy that among all participants, Junior athletes account for approximately 71.4% of the total, a significant proportion that highlights the tremendous appeal and growth potential of Drone Soccer among the younger generation.

Hosting the inaugural World Drone Soccer Championships in Shanghai marks the official dawn of a new global era for this future-forward sport, which integrates cutting-edge technology, team strategy, and sporting spirit.
